#1 real estate group on Lake Lanier - Bev Knight, Dani Brown, Jackie Powalowski, Darlene Plavcan. Over 100 homes sold in 2015, mostly on Lake Lanier.
Dani Burns, Bev Knight, Darlene Plavcan, Donilyn Hodge, Angie Smart, Jamie Bishop and Justin Sheffield are The Good Life Group (GLG) on Lake Lanier, part of Keller Williams Lanier Partners in Gainesville, Georgia. Debbie Krenzer (sales manager) and Tracy Stephens are the Lake Hartwell arm of the GLG. This hard-working team has been the top-producing team in the multiple-office Keller Williams Lanier Partners franchise since 2013. They work with all types of properties and in all price ranges, but they specialize in Lake Lanier homes and luxury houses.
Not only do they follow which properties are on the market right now, but they have a long list of “pocket” listings from people who are thinking about selling their houses in the future. These homes don’t show up on any listing service, but the GLG closes a lot of transactions from these pocket listings. They also have a fantastic list of resources and tradesmen they work with including dock companies, trustworthy contractors, tree cutters, mortgage companies and attorneys who know the rules of the lake.
Because of her extensive background in internet and marketing, lead agent and group founder Bev Knight is involved in most of the listing responsibilities. The GLG is known to be one of most aggressive marketers in the area. They are innovative in a variety of ways including custom street signs, digital billboards featuring current listings, custom home books, professional photography and video tours, aerial videography, professionally produced flyers and so much more. Adding to the marketing mix, they have done radio advertising and even TV spots. You will see GLG ads in various publications including Lakeside News where Bev writes a quarterly column on Lake Lanier real estate. In an average year, the GLG spends over $300,000 on promoting their property which is part of the reason their sales and closing statistics are so robust. If a buyer is looking for a lake home, he will see the homes listed by The Good Life Group.
Another innovation of the GLG is to provide dedicated specialists for buyers, sellers and investors. It takes a unique skill-set and a lot of time to find just the right property for a client, and the GLG team members are experts in their fields. Bev Knight’s goal was to create a real estate group with a businesslike, market-oriented approach. She wanted a team that would be known for their business savvy and professionalism, and they are. With the motto “…when you’re ready for the good life!” the logical name for the team was The Good Life Group. She is certified as a luxury marketing specialist, and she has been the a top producer in the KWLP franchise since 2013. Her team has been the top team in the franchise for the same period of time, and continues to flourish due to their stellar marketing and commitment to service.
A rare native Atlantan, Bev graduated from the UGA with a business degree in Information Systems and minors in both marketing and management. She spent many years in the software industry; and, in time, went into consulting. She guided software and communications companies in setting up training, documentation, product marketing, usability studies, testing, product design and more. Eventually, she opened her own firm, BGK Design Services, where she assisted small businesses with web design and marketing. She does not consider herself a salesperson at all. Instead, she is a problem-solver, and her clients appreciate the distinction. She loves the real estate industry and thrives on coming up with new, innovative marketing techniques.
In her spare time, Bev Knight likes to dance, especially line dancing and salsa. She is also active in her church where she sometimes teaches Sunday School. An avid reader, she helped to start a book club in her neighborhood. She loves people, enjoys real estate, and works very hard to make sure that her clients’ needs are served. If you are interested in listing your lake property or would like help in choosing a buyer’s agent, call Bev Knight at 770-536-4416 or email her at email@example.com.

In the fall of 2014, our group welcomed the very talented Darlene Plavcan as an investment specialist and local expert. A native Georgian and long time Lake Lanier resident, Darlene has a first-hand knowledge of this market. She and her husbanFFd Dennis spent many years remodeling and restoring homes in this area as well as in Florida. Through that experience, she became an expert in investment property, staging, and renovation issues.
All of Darlene’s professional experience has lead to her proficiency in real estate. For many years, she owned and managed an interior design firm and floor-covering company. This background allows her to help sellers stage their homes to insure maximum offers at a minimum cost. She was hired by The Good Life Group to coordinate their investment properties segment for both buyers and sellers. Because so many homes in this area are investment property, Darlene immediately brought a new level of insight and expertise to the group. Her clients would describe her as extremely positive, knowledgeable, and committed to making their real estate experience as efficient and pain-free as possible. From her first day, she became a top producer and important member of the team. You will never find a harder worker than Darlene. She is also a certified luxury agent through the Institute for Luxury Marketing as well as a certified negotiation specialist.
Native Atlantan Donilyn Hodge joined the GLG in 2017. Among other projects, she was the founder of an auto insurance agency and was a founding partner in an online inspirational gift site. Before earning a real estate license, she enjoyed and successfully helped place friends and family members in their dream homes. Donilyn would love to help you to find the perfect home for you and your family.”
Donilyn and her husband have enjoyed supporting Young Life and their church over the years. When not showing homes, Donilyn can be found cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, which included her daughter who rode on the UGA equestrian team. In the spring of 2019, the Good Life Group was excited to announce that top performer, Angie Smart, joined the team. She was already a mega-agent with $8 million in 2018 solo sales, so she was a great fit for this top-producing group. She has won many awards for sales volume, sales units, as well as the KW Culture Award. In addition, she has been nominated for the best Realtor® in Hall County and the best in North Georgia. She is known for her professionalism, patience, positive attitude, work ethic and attention to detail. [I] would work with her again in a heartbeat!”
She grew up in Ohio and lived in Florida for a short time; but, she has spent most of her adult life in Georgia. In 2002, she earned her GA real estate license and worked a great deal in new construction. She found she had a knack for this business and has continued to flourish in all aspects of the job. Always committed to growing and learning, she has earned her SRES designation (Senior Real Estate Specialist) and her Certified Luxury Specialist designation. She and her husband live on Lake Lanier and enjoy that lifestyle. She explains, “We’ve loved every minute of living on the lake. The most energetic member of our team is our vivacious Marketing Coordinator, Jamie Bishop. A licensed agent, Jamie brings an abundance of energy, enthusiasm, and positivity to our group. She graduated from Southern Polytechnic State where she majored in Construction Management / Development. She has worked in a variety of real estate-related jobs, but definitely found her calling as the Marketing Coordinator for the GLG. Her duties could fill a book, but in essence, she is the glue that keeps us all together. She creates marketing literature, updates web sites, manages mail campaigns, coordinates sign installations, handles our social media posts, and oversees all of our schedules. She occasionally shows property for the team members, checks on weekend homes for our clients, and basically fills in for the GLG agents whenever she is needed. She is great at what she does, and we are so blessed to have her on our team.
Most people would describe Jamie as a social butterfly. She has never met a stranger, and is pretty much loved by all. She is an avid scuba diver and enjoys all manner of water sports. Originally from Valdosta, she grew up just a short drive from several lakes as well as the ocean, so that is where her love of the water was born. Jamie is what we Georgians call “a peach.” If you need to reach Jamie for any reason, her phone number is 404-803-3231, and her email address is email@example.com.
